Cloud vs Local

There are two profile saving modes in GenLogin: Local profiles
are saved on your computer, while Cloud profiles
are stored in the cloud and can be easily shared between accounts.
With Genlogin, we allow you to choose to synchronize data with the cloud server (
Cloud Profile
) by default to share with other members (sub-accounts or other Genlogin accounts). You can access your profiles anywhere and with any account.
Alternatively, you can store profiles (
Local Profile
) so that all data is only stored on your computer. However, you need to consider backing up the profiles in case of losing the folder containing the Genlogin directory.
To use profiles on another computer or to store data, you only need to save the profile on the cloud server (Cloud
) following the instructions below:
Choose the Cloud
section in the Profile menu.
Choose Quick Add
or select Create Profile
to create a Cloud profile.
Note: "Create Profile" checks the "Sharing on Cloud" option by default.
To store the data of a profile solely on your computer, save the profile to local storage (Local) as instructed below:
Choose the Local
section in the Profile menu.
Choose Quick Add
or select Create Profile
to create a Local profile.
Note: Create Profile
unchecks the "Sharing on Cloud
" option.
Note: Backup profiles to prevent data loss in case of losing the folder containing the Genlogin directory, such as during a Windows reinstall, by sharing local profiles to the cloud section.
